I think that what you might not get is that I agree with you. I was more commenting on Rikk's post about power. The typical Mac has enough power to be a gaming machine. There is poor support MAINLY do to a low market.
The whole 512mb GPU RAM of your MacBook Pro, while OS/X utilizes only 256mb max is not some sort of game killer... You have regular RAM for a reason. Also Mac's handle resources fairly differently... there is a reason a lot of Video Editing is done on a Mac... although not much of one.

There's no question that Macs CAN run games like TF2 and CS:S. The real question is how WELL they can run them. Think of the main thing they'll be losing: Direct 3D and Direct X acceleration. Open GL is fine and all, but graphically it won't look the same and I can't really see the majority of Macs (which are laptops) being OMGWTF gaming rigs.
That being said, many of my Mac-user friends play WoW and WC3's DoTA religiously. I'll be forcing them to play StarCraft 2 and Diablo III.

I have a September 2008 Macbook Pro that has run TF2 great on 2gb ram under Crossover for quite awhile. Will be nice to see launchable versions of games under a OSX native steam client though.

Also, i cant wait someone finds the "Im a PC" advertisement in 1440x900 or 1366x768... *hint hint*
